This program WILL BE RECORDED.
We gather each year to honor the enduring legacy of Carl Gustav Jung—marking not only the date of his passing, but celebrating the profound depth of insight, imagination, and wisdom he devoted to understanding the human psyche. His work continues to illuminate our inner lives and collective experience in ways that feel as vital today as ever. It is in this spirit that we welcome world-renowned Jungian analyst James Hollis, whose thoughtful engagement with Jung’s ideas carries this living tradition forward, inviting us into deeper reflection, meaning, and psychological growth. We invite you to read on to learn more about this year’s program and the rich conversation that awaits.
“Two souls dwell, alas, in my breast.”
- Goethe’s Faust
Two drives contend within each of us, the desire for satiety and safety, and the drive for exploration and individuation. When the former prevails over the latter, the individual is diminished and the world impoverished. Yet, the need to leave home, psychologically, is also an open wound that one carries into all one’s doings. This push/pull will be examined and the costs of either course illustrated through the lens of analytic psychology.
