This workshop will offer practical ways of working with the complex as first exemplified in Jung’s writings and later by Jungian scholars. We will examine what I refer to as “Cooking the Complex,” an integrative way of engaging with emotional disturbances. This is not intended as an analytic session, but participants will be encouraged to take part in exercises designed to help them attune to the embodied complex. In this way, unconscious material can be integrated into consciousness and stripped of some of its disruptive power. Group discussions and personal exercises will support the assimilation of the material and encourage the development of practical life applications.
Lourdes Hernandez is a Jungian analyst, marked by the traumas of war and political asylum when her family fled Cuba to take refuge in the United States. She holds post-graduate degrees from Pacifica Graduate Institute and Regis University in hermeneutics, counseling, and Jungian and Archetypal Studies. After a period of study in Zurich, Lourdes completed her analytic training with the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and has a bilingual private practice in Boulder, Colorado. Lourdes is a lifelong musician and visual artist who values the curative power of the symbolic psyche and its restorative interventions. |
