C.G. Jung wrote “psyche is image” and encouraged us to create a personal book where we can put our personal dreams and images. Over time, this becomes our sacred visual temple where we can return for psychological and spiritual reminders, reflection, and nourishment.
Join me for a four-week course on creating our own touchstone using spontaneous drawing, collage, and response writing that will be prompted by selected quotes and concepts from Jung’s psychology and experimentation with art materials. Each week we will focus on a different psychological topic that will invite us to thoughtfully and playfully explore the various ways in which psychic energy and the alchemy of the creative process become visible through lines, shapes, and colors. Engaging with the creative instinct through an active imagination process amplifies and enhances our relationship with the unconscious, revealing at times the movement of the Self.
You do not need to be an artist, but simply to come with the courage and willingness to discover and work with what the unconscious offers. Although this is not therapy, you may undergo a discovery process from which you can actively reflect upon how the creative spirit moves through you.
